Even with the home court advantage, Saint Thomas Aquinas posed little threat to the Cougars. After a sluggish first quarter where a combined 11 points were scored, the Cougars pulled away in the second quarter outscoring the Saints 24-5.

Music teacher Doug Talley wins award for excellence

The Johnson County Library Foundation presented the Pinnacle Award to music teacher Doug Talley for excellence in the arts on Oct. 29. “My wife nominated me, if you can believe that,” Talley said. “She’s a big supporter. I guess she figured I’m always busy with music.”
