After developing, coding, building and the robotics team had a robot that was ready to compete by picking up balls, the size of two softballs, and launching them at a target ten feet in the air.
At the Greater Kansas City regional robotics tournament, in Lee’s Summit on Apr 9-11, the team came in fourth. They were the third pick by the third alliance — meaning they were picked to be on the third-ranked team.
In their previous tournament, the St. Louis regional on Mar 26 through Apr 1, the team was picked third by the second-ranked alliance for the defense the robot displayed — despite breaking a lot. They ended up finishing second in the tournament.
While they don’t have any official competitions in their season, they plan to compete in a out-of-season tournament in North Kansas City sometime in June.
