On Feb 6, 2020, Northwest’s academic decathlon team competed against several other schools in the academic decathlon.

This year the competition was online using a testing site. Very few schools showed up, but Northwest only had five participants rather than the nine people that you can have participate. Those four people who didn’t show up left an automatic zero on the team’s score. 

Despite these odds Northwest managed to snag first place and will have the opportunity to go to nationals, which will also take place online on April 30. The district will pay the $250 participation fee. But whether they go depends if all five students are available to participate.
