Homecoming Assembly
October 22, 2017
The senior class won the spirit stick at the annual Homecoming assembly today. Traditionally the assembly is used as a tool to drum up school spirit to get ready for the Homecoming football game, which this year took place at 7 p.m. at the Shawnee Mission North District Stadium against Olathe North. The assembly featured performances from the gymnastics team, the Junior Varsity and Varsity cheer squad, the Freshman cheer squad, Varsity drill team, Junior Varsity drill team and marching band. Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) also gave a speech to the student body about how to be safe this Homecoming weekend.
The assembly features the classic introductions of the Homecoming court candidates. The 20 seniors made their way down the middle of the gymnasium as their extra curricular activities were announced over the speaker. The Homecoming queen was announced at the football game to be Molly Born and the Homecoming king was announced at the dance to be Reid Stimach.
