March Madness is about to get into full swing with three weeks of heart pounding basketball action. March Madness is full of upsets and Cinderella stories which makes it one of the most popular sporting events in the U.S. Here is my bracket and a preview of each of my final four teams.

Duke-Champion

The poster child for college basketball lead by Mike Krzyzewski who feels like he has been there since Van Rose stared. He actually stated in 1980, Van Rose in 1969. This team is lead by Luke Kennard who is averaging 20 points and shoots 43% from behind the three point line. He is impossible for defenses to stop. Another wild card is Grayson Allen who is infamous for his tripping outbursts. He is what I like to call the “Johnny Manziel of Basketball” but he can be effective, averaging 15 points a game this season. Duke is carrying momentum from winning the ACC tournament and I think they have what it takes to go all the way.

North Carolina-Runner up

Another basketball powerhouse in ACC, just down Tobacco Road from Duke is North Carolina. Lead by Roy Williams they are another great team this year. North Carolina is lead by Justin Jackson and Joel Berry II who averaged 16 points per game this season. Along with the scorers, Kennedy Meeks adds in nine rebounds per game. They are also an explosive offensive team scoring 85 points a game which makes it hard for most defense to stop. North Carolina also champions in the most difficult conference this season. In the end they fall just short of the championship to their in-state rival Duke.

Arizona-Third Place

The winner of the Pac-12 tournament will be coming in on a high note. They luck out in the bracket having the worst of the one seed, Gonzaga, to compete with. Arizona is a complete package lead by the phenom from Finland, Lauri Markkanen who averages 16 points and seven rebounds a game. Joining him is Allonzo Trier who chips in 17 points and five rebounds a game. While they won the conference tournament championship in the second worst power five conference, they looked impressive.

Iowa State-Fourth Place

Always a fun team to watch, especially when they play at Sprint Center, what Iowa State fans call “Hilton South.” They are the conference tournament champions of the second toughest conference, the Big 12. They are lead by the dynamic trio; Monteze Morris, Nazareth Mitrou-Long and Deonte Burton who all average 15 points a game. Iowa State also has deadeye three points shooters, Matt Thomas and Donavan Jackson who shoot over 44% from behind the line. As a team they shoot over 40% from three point range, which is very impressive and will scare most defenses. While they will take care of the one seed KU in Kansas City they will lose in the semifinal game to North Carolina.
