Hurricane Harvey

A category four hurricane hit Texas on August 25, 2017. Given the name “Harvey”, the hurricane has set a record rainfall for a single storm in the United States at 51.88 inches. The death toll as of August 30th has risen to 30.
NW science teacher Debra Brewer currently resides in Houston, Texas due to medical reasons and she is able to watch the hurricane develop from her window.
“As I sit in my apartment watching the news of all the of the destruction happening around me, I realize that many of you may not know that I am in Houston,” Brewer said, “I (have) some pictures, they aren’t great quality, but they tell the story from my point of view.”
