Everyone has a reason for signing up, showing up, and improving the world. Here are a few students that explain why they chose to spend their Saturday morning picking up litter instead of sleeping in.
“Wow, this is a great turn out,” senior National Honor Society House Leader Clara Davison remarked. This morning NHS members gathered in the student parking lot. Sleepy-eyed and with trash bags in hand, the group of 14 split up to clear litter from the parking lot, adjacent street, athletic fields and surrounding campus. This is one of the many service opportunities put on by the various House Leaders in NHS. While this service project was not mandatory, each NHS member is responsible for completing 20 hours of service per semester.
