To open this round, junior and first time participant, Dillon Daubenspeck preformed his poem “The Friend Zone”.
Next, senior Carolina Mach performed “Threadbare”.
After Mach, junior Spencer Dang, a performer in last years final round, performed “46”.
Then, sophomore Ariana Michaelson performed her love-inspired poem entitled “To Live Beautifully”.
Junior Serena Clark who has been writing poetry since seventh grade followed with her poem “Growing Up”.
Then the senior duo of Abby Zimmerman and Bridget Lynch preformed their poem about their experiences with success and depression.
To end the round, sophomore and first time slammer Katy Terry delivered her poem which she “hopes to show her true self and move the audience”.
At the end of round 5, the leader board was (in order): Rebecca Carroll, Sarah Godke, Zoe Ziegenhorn, Nate Compton, Grace Freeman, Amanda Rebori, Meghan McCluskey, Chandler Voss, Miranda Paredas, and Rachel Barnes.
