Nearly 35 teams have signed up to compete in the 5th Annual Dodgeball Tournament on March 2.
In the past, an average of 20 teams have registered to play. These teams usually consist of students from the same grades or are made up of teammates from other sports, for example, the Lady Cougar Basketball team generally has its own team.
Student Council sponsors the event annually and raises approximately $1,000. All proceeds form this event are donated to the Johnson County Christmas Bureau.
The winners of last year’s tournament, The Fab 5 & Cierra, was comprised of juniors Keaton Cross, Brady Skeens, Evan Miller, Devin Shockley, Jake Horner and senior Cierra Carbajo.
“It is a fun and exciting event that challenges everyone. The money goes to a good cause,” tournament chairperson Connor Johnson said. “I guess people like getting hit with a ball as a way to donate to charity.”
With many people already signed up, there is always room for more. So dodge, duck, dip and dive your way into the 5th Annual Dodgeball Tournament.
