Prom In A Pandemic
The most current information regarding the 2021 NW Prom
April 1, 2021
Information up to date as of April 1, 2021, 1:42 p.m.
After weeks of planning, Prom Committee’s most recent prom proposal just gained approval from the Johnson County Health Department. As it stands, prom will be a formal event taking place outside at SM North District Stadium. It will take place on May 1 from 8-10 p.m.
As it is outside, prom will look a little different this year. There will be a “Promenade,” in which all attendees will be in a “Red Carpet Walk” in their formal attire. There will also be a seniors-only raffle, socializing, dancing and crowning the Prom Court.
Past ideas, such as after-prom and an on campus outdoor prom, have all been disapproved in a long journey to reach the current plan, due to COVID-19 restrictions. To follow these restrictions, prom will be outdoors, allowing for proper social distancing and masks will be required.
To limit the amount of people attending, this event will be for NW juniors and seniors only. Outside guests will not be allowed. There will be a ticket system used to organize those attending, but the cost to this event is free. All students are encouraged to attend. Court crowning will take place during the dance on May 1, at the SM North District Stadium.
