Muckfest

Rory Dungan, Writer

Students from each of the five Shawnee Mission schools gathered in Shawnee Mission Park to participate in Muckfest. During this event, the students threw a plethora of items at each other; this included water baloons, flour, shaving cream and mud. Afterwards, a fire truck was hosed the students down.

Muckfest is hosted annually by YoungLife Club, a religion-based organization that can also be found in countries abroad. The purpose of Muckfest and Younglife as a whole is not only to bond with peers and have fun, but also have an inner focus on yourself and God. Shawnee Mission schools that have YoungLife activities also host weekly meetings at a volunteer’s home.
