    • Sophomore Javier Cruz  plays the drums during the Thursday Morning Open Mic jazz performance Nov. 17 in the mall. The jazz band performed Work Song by Cannonball Adderly and Sonnymoon for Two by Sonny Rollins. “Jazz is my favorite genre and I have the most experience playing it,” Cruz said. “There are a lot of rules to it, but the better you get at it, you can start to break the rules and that’s when the fun really starts.”

    • Freshmen Ian Murdock, Avery Cornelius and seniors Alexis Petry and Dylan Reed hold up the spirit stick Dec. 1 in the Main Gym. It was awarded to the band by judges due to their support of other groups. “In the moment, there was so much adrenaline and just pure energy,” Reed said. “Last year at [the Sweetheart assembly], we were a skit away from winning and I was hoping to run it back”

    • Boosted by junior Parker Pavlik, junior Dylan Cooper does a backflip at the Mother Son Father Daughter (MSFD) dance Nov. 5 in the Cafeteria. The theme of the MSFD dance was decades, so Cooper and Pavlik dressed in 50’s attire. “It felt really amazing once I landed it and knew I didn’t mess up,” Cooper said. “It’s the second time we did it. We first did it as a part of our junior skit for the Bonfire assembly.”
