The NW canned food drive is in the “GREEN” today and it’s CASH DAY! ALL monies donated today are worth DOUBLE! Tomorrow is COUGAR CRAZIE DAY then Friday is our canned food drive t-shirt day with ALL cans and money being collected on the FINAL day of the drive.
Food drive t-shirts will be on sale Friday, during all 3 lunches for only $10. Listen and watch for additional surprises on Friday!!!!! All donations are benefiting our local Johnson County Christmas Bureau.
Like sandwiches? Like jazz? You’re in luck! Come support the Northwest Jazz Band tomorrow night at 6:30pm at the Planet Sub on Quivira and 75th. Enjoy a sandwich while listening to the jazz band play some great music!
Counseling
A representative from the United States Naval Academy will be visiting Shawnee Mission Northwest next Monday, November 23rd at 9:00 am to discuss the opportunities the Naval Academy has to offer future leaders. See Mrs. Alvey in the office to sign up for the visit.
Athletics
Attention ALL NW student/athletes interested in competing this spring on the track and field team: sign-ups continue throughout this week in the mall during all three lunch periods. Come out and meet Coach Stiegemeier and Coach Ratzlaff (pronounced Stig-meyer & Rats-laugh).
Any student athlete interested in trying out for bowling should plan to attend an informational meeting tomorrow (Thursday) either before school or after school in rm 153. The morning meeting will start at 7:15 and the after school meeting will start at 2:45 in 153. We will talk about tryouts and the season. If you cannot attend, please see Coach Dent in rm 153 on Friday to get information. Let’s roll!
Attention all girls that are interested in trying out for soccer in the spring, there will be a brief meeting tomorrow, Thursday November 19th , in room 120 at 2:50 with Coach Boren. We will discuss preseason conditioning and tryouts in the spring. If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Coach Boren prior to Thursday.
Clubs:
Today is the LAST DAY to purchase this year’s Not-So-Late-Night shirt! A table will be set up in the mall during all three lunches, long sleeves are $15 and short sleeves are $10! Show your school spirit for winter sports!!!
Naratu club will be meeting TODAY in 212 instead of Thursday. Everybody who loves Naratu is welcome.
The young democratic socialists club will be meeting on Thursday at 7:10 in Room 105. We will be talking about the environment and how we need a system change, not climate change. Come be a part of the Change” Thursday 7:10 AM room 105.
Young Republicans Club will meet this Friday morning at 7:05 in room 120. We will be talking about the next group of Republican candidates. All are welcome.
