    The time has come for SMNW’s fall musical! Come see Into the Woods Tonight, Friday, and Saturday at 7pm in the Greg Parker Auditorium! All tickets are $10 or free with an activity pass. Hope to see you there!

     

    The library will be limiting seminar visitors today and next week due to guest speakers, so please plan accordingly. Those attending the guest speaker presentations will have access but otherwise plan on working in your home seminar.

     

    Next week starts the Canned Food Drive 5th hour class competition!  The week will start with a BE THE CHANGE drive – bring your pennies on Monday, your nickels and dimes on Tuesday, and your Quarters on Wednesday to your 5th hour class to start off the drive.  Then Nov. 16-20, we will encourage classes to bring in your canned goods and cash to your 5th hour class so your class can win the competition for large, medium, and small classes and to benefit the Johnson County Christmas Bureau See Drew Vanderleest or Mrs. Dent with questions!  Thanks!

     

    ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS!! Get your dancing shoes on because the Mother Son – Father Daughter Dance is on November 14th! From 8-10 pm.  It’s a decade dance so dress up in your favorite decade! Admission is $5 per person. Canned goods, personal care items, and cash donations are accepted at the door and student I.D. is required.

    Counseling: 

    A representative from Simpson College will be visiting tomorrow, November 5th at 12:00.  See Mrs. Alvey in the office for information.

     

    Bring your parents to the Shawnee Mission Financial Aid Night here at Northwest next Wednesday, Nov 11 at 6:30 p.m. Topics will include how to qualify and apply for college financial aid, scholarships, loans, grants and other resources, and how to complete the FAFSA.

     

    If you plan to take the December 12th ACT, you can still register online by Friday, November 6th in order to avoid the late fee. Go to ‘actstudent.org‘ to register. 

     

    Athletics

    Boys who are interested in playing tennis in the spring, please attend an informational meeting in room 128 after school on Friday, November 6. (This meeting was moved from Wednesday to Friday)

     

    If you are planning on trying out for a winter sport you must have a physical turned in to the Athletic Office by noon on 11/13. If you are not sure if you turned one in, please check with Mrs. Horseman in the Athletic Office before 11/13.  

     

    Clubs:

    This week’s Spectator of the week will be chosen tonight at the Fall Musical, Into the Woods starting at 7 p.m. in the auditorium! Tickets are FREE with an activity pass!

     

    Attention all Beatles’ Fan Club Members: We will meet in Room 130 after school today to watch HELP, one of the Beatles’ finest movies that features many of their greatest songs. Bring a friend and see you there!

     

    Throughout the month of November, there will be writing programs and sessions to participate in National Novel Writing Month on Mondays after school and Thursdays during seminar in the Library.  Come to just one session or come to them all – we’ll be there writing!

     

    Young Republicans T-shirts are in! Pick yours up after school on Thursday in room 120 or at the meeting on Friday morning.  We will wear them on Friday.

     

    Prom Committee meeting Friday at 7:10 in room 124.

     

    Come support your Northwest Varsity Cheerleaders at Shawnee Mission West this Saturday Nov. 7th at 10 o’clock for the district competition. We would love to see you there! Go Cougars!
