    10-30-15 Announcements 

     

    SADD has organized Red Ribbon Week this week, to raise awareness for alcohol/drug prevention!  TODAY is the final day and it is great to see all the Cougar crazie orange and black! Always remember, DON’T BE SCARED TO BE DRUG FREE!!!!

     

    Attention NW: Beginning immediately, all secondary doors to the building should only be used for emergency exits and will remain closed during the regular school day.   Entry to the building will be through the main East and West doors for all except teachers with an ID card.  This means that all students should enter and exit through the main East and West doors ONLY during the school day.  All students entering the building need to have their ID to present.

     

    Counseling: 

    Attention Seniors:  This Sunday, November 1, is the deadline for submitting college applications in order to be considered for scholarships for KU and KSU.

     

    Athletics

    TONIGHT Football will close their season against South so come cheer on the Cougars.  Be sure to stay after the game to watch the Marching Cougar Pride perform their annual light show!

     

    Cross Country is heading to State Saturday….. Good luck Northwest                          !!

     

    Clubs:

    Congratulations to the students who attended Math Day at Emporia State on Wednesday.  Students competed individually and in teams in Algebra and Geometry against 48 other schools and over 500 students.  Special congratulations go to Deon Richmond who placed 4th in the Individual Algebra competition and Nick Senior who placed 2nd in the Individual Geometry competition.  Great job!

    Attention boys and girls!! There will be a REbeL meeting TODAY at 2:45 in room 155! See you there.

     

    Ever thought about writing a book someday? Start that ‘someday’ now! Throughout the month of November, there will be writing programs and sessions to participate in National Novel Writing Month. Mondays after school and Thursdays during seminar. Come to just one session or come to them all- we’ll be there writing! And come hear award-winning author E.K. Johnston speak on Thursday. See Mrs. Stigge in the library for a reservation.

     

    Need study tips for your next math test? Are you stumped on your homework?  NHS students are here to help!  Meet with the same students weekly to work through concepts. We will be in the library: Tuesday mornings and Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Come by and see us!
