Senior Final Exam Exemption Forms are now available in the office. This process allows certain students in selected classes to be excused from the teacher constructed final exam. It does NOT allow students to exempt out of required College Now finals.  You can only exempt from a final if you meet ALL of the required criteria and students must attend the class even if they have had the final waived. You must have a semester cumulative average of 90% or a grade of an A in each class you are choosing to exempt. You must have had NO Saturday Schools, In-school or Out of school suspensions for second semester and you must have NO unexcused absences in ANY CLASS for second semester.  If you are a senior and think you qualify to exempt from an exam, please pick up the form in the office and carefully read and follow the directions.  The forms must be complete and returned by May 6th.
Students: Thursday during Seminar is the annual Locker Cleanout. All students will be released and need to report to their lockers. In advance, check Skyward for your locker number and combination. Reminder: all lockers will be emptied out during the summer. Locker Cleanout is a good time to return all Library books, text books and take home anything you do not want thrown away. Trash bins will be provided.
Seniors:  Please check the senior notices posted on the main office window to determine if you have any outstanding fees or fines. The lists will change throughout the upcoming weeks, so continued monitoring is recommended. Fees or fines that are not satisfied will result in the diploma being held until satisfied.

Seniors you also need to see the sheets on the library doors or the office window for a list of seniors with library books out.  All seniors books are due by this Friday, May 1.

    Counseling:
Navy recruiters will be visiting NW during lunch tomorrow April 29th.
Students who have taken College Now credit and are planning to attend JCCC after graduation should fill out an application online for a full time student at JCCC.  This will allow the student to be eligible for financial aid and will provide a checklist of things the student needs to follow to be enrolled for the fall semester.
Seniors:  check the local scholarships list in the Scholarships & Financial Aid google classroom. Several new scholarships have recently been added and some are available to only SMNW students.  Get your application submitted asap.
Are you interested in a medical-related career? The UMKC School of Medicine is hosting a summer exploration opportunity called Camp Cardiac from July 20-24th. The deadline is May 11th and space is limited. Some scholarships are still available. Go tocampcardiac.org or see your counselor for more information.
