    Northwest has the BEST subs and para’s….. thank one today for making Northwest a great place to learn!

    Seniors: Balfour will be here to pass out graduation announcement tomorrow, April 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in front of the auditorium.

    It’s not too late to get your creative minds flowing because Senior song tryouts will be held tomorrow, April 9 at 6 p.m. in room 226. Talk to a spirit club member for more information.

    Seniors:  Please check the notice posted on the main office window to determine if you have any outstanding fees or fines.  The list will change throughout the upcoming weeks, so continued monitoring is recommended. Fees or fines that are not satisfied will result in the diploma being held until satisfied.

    By Royal decree “The Queen of Hearts” cordially invites Seniors and Juniors to attend Prom on April 18 at the Shawnee Civic Center. Journey down the Rabbit Hole from 8:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Tickets sales will be April 13 through 17 during all three lunches in the mall. One ticket is $25 or two tickets for $48. Don’t be Late – It is a Very Important Date!!

    If you are planning to bring a guest to PROM that is not a Northwest student, please come to the office to pick up a yellow guest form from the wall file. Do NOT wait until the last minute as all forms are due by the April 15th deadline.
    Hey Seniors…Going to KU or K-State next year? We’ve got some great college prize packages of spirit wear to give out at After Prom on April 18th, 11:30pm  to 3am   Would you like a restaurant gift card, TV, or dorm frig?  Come to After Prom…..Tickets are $10 and include all food and activities, including casino games, free tattoos and photo booth plus you won’t want to miss taking a picture catching a big wave on the rockin’ and rollin’ surfing simulator!

    Attention Earth & Art Lovers! Our annual Northwest Cougar Earth Day Art Show is less than 3 weeks away! Use found objects, trash, recycled materials, discarded things, mix with creativity and transform into art. There will be prizes! Pick up an entry from Mr. Hunt in room 8.

    Counseling:
    Before you go shopping for your prom dress, come to the counseling office and look at our selection of dresses available to students at no charge.  Students may come during their lunch hour, before or after school.

    A representative from Northwest Missouri State will be visiting today at 1:30 p.m. If you want to learn more about NW Missouri State please see Mrs. Stockton in the Records Office for a pass.

    Athletics:
    CONGRATULATIONS to the Varsity Baseball team who upped their season record to 4-1 with a 6-3 road victory over Lawrence Free State. The Cougars, now 2-0 in conference play received solid pitching from the combination of starter Jared Marolf, middle relief from Dylan Dirks, and Brennon Convington, who shut the door on the Firebirds in the 7th inning. The Cougars offensive attack was led by Nate Reeder, who collected two hits, including a double and a solo home run, along with Brett Ferencz who also had two hits on the evening.  Cougars continue action tomorrow night, at 7:00 p.m. when they take on SME at 3 & 2 baseball complex.

    Boys’ varsity tennis team beat SMN 3-1, tied Free State 2-2, & lost 1-3 to Olathe NW. Congratulations to Zane Andruss with Nill Patel for one win at #2 doubles, Tyler Garland for 2 wins at #1 singles, and to Nathan Schmidt with Reagan Walsh who won all 3 matches at #1 doubles. Good luck today at the Gardner quad.

     

    Clubs

    If you have your Sleep in a Box forms and money ready, please give it to the Sleep in a Box table  today OR  Friday during all three lunches. All forms and money are due THIS Friday. Please talk to Carley Olson or Amelia Hoelting  if you have any questions.

    Lemon Club and French Club will be having a lemonade stand and Crêpe sale tomorrow, morning before school! Crêpes and lemonade will sell for $1 each and the funds will be used to support French Club and pay for research in order to end childhood cancer! So, please join us tomorrow morning in the mall!

    Spanish club will meet in 115 after school today, Wednesday, April 8th.

    Girl effect will be meeting Thursday, tomorrow, after school. There will be snacks so bring your friends. Everyone is welcome to join us share positivity.

    Movie of the Month is “What about Bob” with Richard Dreyfus and Bill Murray. Join us in room 105 3rd lunch.

    Lunch today:  a roll with shrimp popper with cheese OR chicken nuggets
