    2-9-15 Announcements

    ATTENTION students: Laptops should not be left in cars. AGAIN, laptops should not be left in cars. The COLD and HEAT can easily damage a computer, even a drop of water (condensation) can ruin a computer. Several NW computers have been damaged due to these issues, so please take care of you laptop so you do not have to pay to replace it.

    Come and see what happens when the uptight Kirby’s come on the wrong night to the Sycamore home in You Can’t Take it With You Feb. 12-14 at 7 p.m. in the Greg Parker Auditorium. Tickets are $8 or free with an activity pass. We will keep you laughing all night long.

    Are you bringing an outside guest for the WPA dance?   Come to the office to get your outside guest form.  You do not want to wait until the last minute to pick these up because they are due by Wednesday, Feb. 18. The WPA dance theme is “Hollywood” on Feb. 21 from 8 p.m.-11 p.m.  Remember to wear appropriate formal attire; this includes collared shirts with ties and formal dresses. Keep your shoes on for the entire night and keep the dancing clean.

    If you are going to WPA and don’t have a dress, come by the counseling office to take a look at our selection of new and gently used dresses, they are free of charge to NW students.  You can come by before school, during lunch or you can come after school but you must leave the office by 3 p.m.

    Counseling:
    Seniors –  Do you need help completing the FAFSA college financial aid application? Come to College Goal Sunday at JCCC on Feb. 22 for FREE, personalized help in completing the FAFSA application and have your financial aid questions answered. All who attend will be entered in a drawing for a $500 scholarship!

    Athletics:

    Congratulations to the wrestlers for their Friday performance in the SM District Championships.  The Cougar Grapplers walked away with seven individual district Champions on their way to a 4-0 record and a Team District Championship. Individual Champions were: Jerad Habben, Colin Anthony, Devonte Smith, Trevor Rine, Trenton Smith, Trevor Kudzinski, and Zack Newcomb.  On Saturday, in the JV League tournament, Nate Thompson and Austin Wilson earned Championships in their weight classes.  Great Job Wrestlers!

    Clubs:
    Feed your Chipotle craving and help After Prom at the same time! Come TONIGHT, Monday, Feb. 9 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to Chipotle on SM Pkwy and Quivira. Pick up a flyer in the office or tell them you are with SMNW.  If order online for pick-up…. be sure to put “SMNW fundraiser” in the notes and mention it when you pick up and pay for your order!!

    Prom committee will be selling roses this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for $3.50 in the mall during  all three lunches. Buy a rose, attach a special message and we will deliver it on Friday!

    SEEK students, today is cookie design day. If you want to design a cookie come between classes or at lunch (no passes).

    No Movie of the month during lunch today. We restart Wednesday.

    Categories meets after school today and every Monday. Just come by for fun and games. Categories will meet in room 105, everyone is welcome.
