Good Morning Northwest! Want to learn more about upcoming StuCo events – like Halloween Carnival, Canned Food Drive, Talent Show, Adopt a Tot, Mother/Son Father/Daughter Dance?  Have any questions or suggestions for our school?  Come to this semester’s OPEN FORUM meeting is tomorrow, in the Little Theatre at 7:10 a.m. before school. #Come eat doughnuts with StuCo!  Questions? What would you do if you knew you had the power to make a difference in the world? Help us bring back Girl Effect, where you can connect to people in other countries and make a lasting impact in your community. Ensure education, security, and citizenship for girls all over the world. Check out our first meeting this Thursday at 7 a.m. before school. Boys are invited too; it’s not just for girls.

 

Do you have an eye for photography?  If so, come to the new photo club, starting Oct. 16 after school in Room 7.  We’ll be going on photo shoots, have group critiques & fun contests with great prizes.  There will be food so come hungry!!! Hey seniors!  A sign-up sheet has been posted right outside of Room 151 for anyone who has not gotten their picture taken for the yearbook yet.  A picture day for both seniors and underclassmen will be held Oct. 16 so make sure to sign up as soon as possible.  This is also you ONLY chance to get a retake, if desired.  Just remember to sign up outside of Room 151 this week!

 

The girls’ tennis team won against Maranatha yesterday 12-5.  This was the JV’s last match of the season. Congratulations to Brooke Bennett, Ashley Rogers, Emmalee Rose, Carrie Mulder, Nikki Metz, Trinity Brotherton , Jocelyn Luna , Gina Gabrielli, Kaylee Smith , Anna Leese, Vivian Gomez and Kara Brown.

 

Juniors and sophomores planning to take the PSAT

Registration ends this week on Thursday for juniors and on Friday for sophomores.  Don’t miss out on an important opportunity to help you decide which college entrance test you should take.  Also, juniors, remember that taking the PSAT this year is the only way to be entered in the various National Merit Scholarship Competitions.  To register, bring your cash or check to the counseling secretary during lunch or before or after school during the next three days.  The price is $17 for juniors and $20 for sophomores.


There will be an ACT test prep seminar at Northwest Oct.12. It will be in the cafeteria and will run from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 pm.  The cost is $79.99.  Students can register at www.doorwaytocollege.com or by calling 1-877-927-8378.  The ZAPS company has changed their name to Doorway to College.
