StuCo will have a table in the mall during all three lunches today to hear your opinions and suggestions on how to improve the school. StuCo reps will be meeting with the superintendent on Thursday and would love to hear your input!

Do you need a little help with homework? Want to do well on that next test? Please feel free to get assistance from your friendly peers in National Honor Society. Just come to the Library before or after school and look for the very large, obnoxiously decorated sign on the right hand.

The Homecoming dance, Royal Romance; A Night In London, will be on Oct. 4 from 8 p.m.– 11 p.m. in the cafeteria. Northwest has an outside guest policy – you MUST pick up an outside guest form in the office, if you are bringing a date from another school. The forms must be turned in to the office by Oct. 1!  Stay tuned for more info on ticket sales.

Looking for that special dress for Homecoming, but not looking to spend a lot of money?  Come check out the dresses available at no cost to students in the Counseling office.  Students are welcome to come before and after school, but must leave the office by 3:00 p.m. Students should not plan to come between classes.

Attention ALL NHS Applicants: Please stop by room 117 before or after school onThursday to double check that all of your application materials have been submitted.

Academic Decathlon will meet Wednesday after school in room 241.

Attention student leaders!   The first quarter President’s Council meeting will be on Sept. 25 during seminar in the cafeteria.  You will be dismissed from your seminar class after video announcements, so please hurry down to the cafeteria so we can get started on this exciting event.  You will receive your pink preapproval pass – see Mrs. Dent or Harrison Chen if you have questions.  Please come prepared with an update on your organization/team.  Thanks!

Hey seniors!  A sign-up sheet has been posted right outside of room 151 for anyone who has not gotten their picture taken for the yearbook yet.  A picture day for both seniors and underclassmen will be held Oct. 16 so make sure to sign up as soon as possible.  This is also your ONLY chance to get a retake, if desired.  Just remember to sign up outside of room 151 this week!

If you purchased an orange army t-shirt go after school to room 132 to pick up.  If you missed ordering a shirt the first time, we’re taking a second order.  Fill out an order form and pay $10 during all three lunches every day this week!

Any student interested in trying out for the 2015 softball team in the spring please attend the informational meeting Sept. 25 at 7:20 a.m. in room 224. If you are interested and can not attend, you will need to contact Coach Kinney.

Hey, Jack……Yeah, Ethan. I already bagged up all of the bibs and the balls and I am getting ready to polish your boots for tomorrow’s game. Did you know that in the United States it is illegal to kill or harm or take parts of bald and golden eagles including nests and eggs?

Seriously – well I guess my breakfast is going to send me to jail in all 54 of them.

Last night, the boys varsity soccer team defeated the Olathe North Eagles by a score of 4-0.

The Bowman brothers, Ethan and Seth, each tucked one goal into the net.  Patrick “MO” Shreve banged one into the upper corner and the FRESHMAN, Jack “Attack” Lammers notched his first assist and punched in his first varsity goal. A stout defense and Jared Wolken put up their second shutout. Great job boys!  Thanks to all the fans that filled the stands.

Tomorrow night, the cougars continue their playing week against the “RAIDAS” of Shawnee Mission South.   Game time is 7:00.  Location is Shawnee Mission South.

Any boy who is not playing in a fall sport and is interested in trying out for basketball this year needs to attend a meeting this Sept. 25 morning at 7:20  in room 228.
Reminder to sophomores and juniors; you can sign up for the PSAT now. Come before school to register and pay $17 fee, exact change or check, in the counseling office.
