Do you know trivia? Do you want to be on TV? Do you like to push buzzers? Categories meets every Monday after school room 105. Come once or come every week – bring on the challenge. See Mrs. Morrison or Spencer Dang or Nick Leyden for more information. 

Any students interested in being part of the prom leadership this year needs to get their application into Ms. Schaufler room 124 BY THIS FRIDAY.  The application should include your name other clubs, sports and organizations you are involved in.  Include what your strengths are and how they would be essential to the prom committee.

Excited for bonfire this year on September 4?! Make sure to purchase your bonfire shirt for $10 during all three lunches this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and at Back to school night on this Thursday night. Check out the posters around school to see this year’s design! Definitely a shirt you won’t want to pass up.

Freshmen – Student Council is LOOKING FOR YOU!  StuCo organizes tons of events around school and is a great way to meet people at NW.   Pick up contracts and speech guidelines today and tomorrow in Room 132 or on Sarah Dent’s web backpack.  Contracts and speeches are due TOMORROW Friday, August 22 by 3:00 p.m. to Room 132.  Elections will be held on Thurs. Aug. 28 during Seminar in the Gym.  See a Student Council representative, Tom Green, or Mrs. Dent in Room 132 if you have any questions.  

Any junior or senior boy, not participating in a fall sport, who is interested in trying out for basketball this year needs to attend a meeting at 7:20 next Tuesday morning, August 26, in room 228.

Is the cougar life calling you?  Do you want to get more involved?  Well… if you said yes to either of these questions then you are a great candidate to be this year’s mascot!  Tryouts are on Monday August 25 at 7pm.  See you there!

Attention all students interested in being on the wrestling team this winter.  There is an important informational meeting tomorrow – Friday August 22nd at 7:00 am in Room B.  Come sign up for the team and the 2nd annual SMNW Wrestling Challenge Tournament.  We need kids that weigh 100lbs. or less, and kids that weigh 200lbs. or more.  No experience required, but helpful.    Have a great day Cougars.


An organizational meeting for Spanish club will be held next Wednesday, August 27th after school in room 115.  Bring your calendars and your ideas to plan a fun-filled year of Spanish!   Hasta pronto!

Hey Hey Hey!!!  Orange Army T-shirts sales are starting – this year is ORANGE CAMO!!!  You MUST preorder the t-shirt by completing the order form and paying $10.  Student Council will take orders at Back to School Night tonight AND tables will be set up in the mall during lunches on Friday and next week.  Order forms and money can be turned in at the tables or room 132 after school (to Mrs. Dent) by Friday, Aug. 29.  Parent, sibling, and faculty shirts are available.         

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT IS TONIGHT…..so let us do the cooking for you!  The SMNW PTSA after prom committee will serve Chick-fil-A sandwich meals for ONLY $5.  Look for our table in the mall while you shop for spirit-wear at back-to-school night!

There will be a COLLEGE NOW information meeting in the Auditorium TONIGHT from 5:30pm to 6:15pm.   If you are enrolled in a College Now class PLEASE inform your parents of the meeting.      

ATTENTION All SENIORS WITH OPEN LUNCH:  You must meet with Mr. Moss this TODAY during seminar.  You will be called through the PA system when to come to the auditorium.  Seniors make sure you are departing the building using the WEST doors when leaving for lunch.

Attentions ALL Students: We only have a few rules here at NW during lunch that will make the lunch experience go better.  Please make sure you don’t take the black trays out of the cafeteria, throw away your trash after you eat and stay in the designated lunch areas until the bell rings indicating your lunch is over.  You are not to be in the academic areas anytime during your lunch.
