Northwest xc team: average 30-40 girls and boys
Uniforms- new every other year
Shoes- runners can afford to buy their own
Transportation to big meets- charter buses
Training grounds- flat roads/sidewalks around Northwest, Northwest track and field, hills on Caenen and 71st St., Shawnee Mission Park fieldsMcFarland xc team: 7 boys
Uniforms- discounted thrift store tanks and running shorts (had to raise money for new ones with town car wash/enchilada sale)
Shoes- old sneakers bought by Coach White
Transportation to regionals/state- small school bus
Training grounds- orange tree fields, almond mounds for hill practice, small track at McFarland High School, town’s streets
