Between coaching the football team, teaching weights class and monitoring lunch, Linn Hibbs doesn’t have much free time. However, he is managing to balance all of these things during the first few weeks of his new teaching job.
“I’ve been in scramble mode a bit trying to get everything in line,” Hibbs said about his workload.
Even though it is Hibbs’ first year teaching at Northwest, it is not his first high school teaching job. He taught at Wellington High School in Wellington, Kan., for 15 years.
“I wanted to be head football coach, and I thought it was a great opportunity to be at a really good school,” Hibbs said.
Hibbs was not head coach at Wellington, though he did participate in the football program there. Now, he has the responsibility of coaching the Cougars to victory, and he has absolute confidence in the team.
“The kids are really working hard. Hopefully we have a good season because the kids, based on their work, deserve the success,” Hibbs said.
