Rating: 4/5

The Space Between Us is a two-hour interplanetary adventure. Shortly after arriving to help colonize Mars, an astronaut Sarah Elliot (Janet Montgomery) dies while giving birth to the first human born on Mars. Thus begins the extraordinary life of Gardner Elliot (Asa Butterfield) an inquisitive, highly intelligent boy who reaches the age of 16 having only met 14 people in his very unconventional setting. While searching for clues about his long lost father and discovering the wonders of the home planet he’s never known, Gardner begins an online friendship with a clever girl named Tulsa (Britt Robertson). During their journey to find Gardner’s father, the two teenagers fall in love.

Overall this was a very well done movie. I would recommend going to see this movie if you like science fiction or romance movies. The acting in this movie was wonderful considering none of the actors are household names. The very detailed plot kept the movie interesting and I would advise anyone to go see this while it’s still in theaters.

I would not recommend going to the movie with a young child because there is some romance that could make younger children uncomfortable. Another one of the flaws I found in the movie is that it was very slow moving. If you like more fast paced or action packed movies, I wouldn’t recommend this movie to you. Those are some of the faults in this otherwise flawless movie.
