Friday will be the first Cappuccino Day, an event run by Cougar Community Commitment (CCC). Cappuccino and a variety of other snacks will be sold in the morning and during the first four hours of the school day.The proceeds will go to former NW science teacher Debbie Mayer and a handicapped boy.
“We don’t raise money for the sake of getting money,” CCC teacher Ron Poplau said. “We raise money to help people in our community. We are raising money for Debbie Mayer to get a computer and a handicapped boy to get a bike.”
Mayer retired last December and suffered a devastating stroke last January. The other half of the money is going to a handicapped boy to receive a custom made bike. Cappuccinos are available this Friday to support these two causes and to support the CCC.
