Boys’ Golf season preview

The golf team is looking to repeat another strong season. Junior captains Jackson Foth and Logan Coffman look to lead the Cougars to a top-three finish at the state tournament this year.

“We lost two quality golfers in the great Brett Dowell and David Catt. With that being said, we’re looking for people to step up and fill the void,” Foth said.

Senior Tanner Jarman looks to fill the number three spot on the team behind Foth and Coffman, while the remaining order is yet to be determined. Seniors Dylan Hargrave and Brett Noland and sophomores Garret Allen and Collin Weems could potentially step up and contribute to a successful season.

Sharply dressed and with the new motto ‘You’ve got to look good to play good,’ the golf team has started practicing at St. Andrews, Tomahawk and Lake Quivira. One of the Cougars’ goals this year is to win the Lake Quivira tournament for the third year in a row.

“The team’s working hard and putting in the hours at practice,” Noland said. “I think we should have a solid team and successful season.”
