2015 Lair Distribution

+Delaney Mirocke

Distribution of the 2015 Lair will begin immediately after graduation rehearsal for seniors on May 19.

In addition to the stories and images of the year that always appear in the book, The 2015 Lair contains Aurasma features from the Aurasma app. Students will be able to download the Aurasma app on their cell phones and mobile devices to view extended KUGR coverage on specific stories. Photos that are bracketed and have the Aurasma feature in their caption will be able to be scanned to view short clips or links to more coverage. The aurasma app is free in the app store. Once the app is downloaded, students need to follow @shawneemissionnorthwest on Aurasma so that it is compatible with their yearbook.

“Having KUGR coverage in the yearbook is definitely a step forward because in the past we weren’t really involved with journalism,” KUGR executive board member Chandler Bado said. “I think it is a good opportunity for us to mingle with the journalism kids and help out in any way that we can.”

Seniors who have ordered and paid for yearbooks will be able to pick them up in the back of the main gym. Seniors whose names have been placed on the wait-list should go directly to the Help Table rather than getting in one of the alphabetical lines. Wait-listed seniors will need to have $70 in cash with them in order to claim their book. No checks or credit cards will be accepted.

“I hope that I will be able to look at my senior yearbook when I go to my class reunion and remember all the people I went to high school with,” senior Tatum Graves said. “I am looking forward to seeing the stories about the activities that I am in, like basketball and volleyball, and I like to look through everyone’s school pictures and see how everyone has changed.”

Underclassmen who have already ordered and paid for their yearbooks will have them delivered to their sixth hour classes. Wait-listed underclassmen and underclassmen hoping to purchase a book will need to bring $70 cash as well to the Help Table located in the mall after dismissal.

For those students who have not pre-ordered or pre-paid for a yearbook, there is good news. An extra 130 books were delivered and will be offered for sale. Those who would like to purchase one of these books should also go directly to the Help Desk with $70 in cash. No checks or credit cards will be accepted. Books will also be available for sale or pick up before and after school
