    4-14-15 Announcements

    Great to see everyone in “summer day” clothing today, for Cougar Crazie week. Tomorrow is college wear day so break out a favorite college t-shirt.  Thursday is twin day then prepare for Friday – Cougar black and orange day!   
     
    Don’t be late this Saturday– It is a Very Important Date!! “The Queen of Hearts” cordially invites seniors and juniors to attend the SMNW Prom on April 18th at the Shawnee Civic Center. Journey down the Rabbit Hole from 8:30pm-11:30pm. Tickets sales are this WEEK during all three lunches in the mall. One ticket is $25 or two tickets for $48. 
     
    If you are planning to bring a guest to PROM that is not a Northwest student, please come to the office to pick up a yellow guest form from the wall file. Do NOT wait until the last minute as all forms are due by TOMORROW, April 15. 
     
    Make your plans now for “Fantasy Island” After Prom! If you don’t know anything about After Prom talk to a senior and see why you definitely don’t want to miss it!  Every year, over 600students come for a night of craziness and amazing prizes.  Catching a wave on the Surfing simulator, capturing a photo memory in the Photo Booth or spending the evening racking up tickets playing Casino Games will fill the night with fun so every junior and senior needs to be there.  After Prom is this Saturday night, April 18th and there are over 100 prizes available to win.  Top prizes include a Surface Computer!
    Seniors and Juniors:  After prom party ticket sales continue today.  Parent volunteers will be selling tickets at the west end of the mall during lunch. Tickets are only $10 each, a free t-shirt is included with each ticket purchased.  Tickets at the door will be $15 so save some cash and get them today. 
     
    Mix creativity with love of our planet.  Pick up litter and trash then transform into treasure! Our Earth Day Art Show is a week away.  Deliver your art entries to room 8 by next Monday.  First place prize is a Wacom Drawing Tablet, 2nd place is a 16 megapixel camera, 3rd, 4th and 5th place prizes are $50 gift certificates for Art Supplies.”
    Seniors who want to perform the National Anthem, either as a solo or in a group no larger than 4, at graduation need to see Mr. Giacalone or Ms. Schaufler.  You must sign up and pick up an application prior to this Friday, April 17th.  Solo Tryouts will be held on Wednesday April 22 at 2:50 in room 40.  
    Seniors:  Please check the notice posted on the main office window to determine if you have any outstanding fees or fines. The list will change throughout the upcoming weeks, so continued monitoring is recommended. Fees or fines that are not satisfied will result in the diploma being held until satisfied.
     
    Counseling: 
    If you are looking for a Prom dress…..Before you go shopping, come to the counseling office and look at our selection of dresses available to students at no charge.  Students may come during their lunch hour, before or after school.  
     
    Athletics:  
    Attention those football players currently in grades 9 -11 planning on playing football next season.  There will be a brief mandatory meeting after school at 2:45 pm in cafeteria 1 and 2 with Coach Black.  There will be valuable information regarding summer programs and finalization of pertinent contact information. Look forward to seeing everyone there!
    The following student athletes will sign their letter of intent to play college sports.  Join us tomorrow, April 15th, in the NW cafeteria at 3PM to congratulate:  Sam Sullivan, Brett Ferencz, Ariel Jackson, Kendall Spender, Donte’ Colum, Cole Nelson, Ethan Bowman, Joel Droge, Clay Drouillard, Claire Williams, Griffen Robinson, Mitchell Hodson, Mia Richards and Brittnee Bailey.
    Your Cougar golf team continued its impressive start by taking home the 3rd place medals yesterday in the SM East Invitational at Milburn Country Club.  The team was led by Jr. ball striker Blake Allen who finished 2nd individually and Fr. Phenom Christian Ghilardi who earned the 3rd place individual medal.  Sr. Mitchell Bolton; Fr. Kellen Cross; and So. Jackson Grotogut also contributed to the team strong showing.  Congratulations Cougar’s and good luck in your next tournament!

    Attention Link Crew Applicants, the deadline for Link Crew applications is today by 3pm.  Please turn Link Crew applications in to room 123 by 3 pm today.  No exceptions.
